Create colourful holiday treats in just 30 minutes. Melt margarine and marshmallows, then mix in Rice KrispiesⓇ Holiday edition cereal. Shape the mixture with festive cookie cutters and decorate with red, white, and green frosting plus candy. Yield is 16 servings. Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup

    margarine or butter

  • 250 g (1 pkg) (about 40)

    regular marshmallows or 5 cups miniature 

  • ½ tsp

    vanilla extract (optional)

  • 5 cups

    Rice KrispiesⓇ Holiday edition cereal

  • -

    Red, White and, Green frosting

  • -

    Festive candy for decorating

Directions

  1. Melt margarine or butter in a large saucepan over med-low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Stir in the vanilla and add the Rice KrispiesⓇ Holiday edition cereal. Stir until well coated. Using a lightly buttered spatula, press into a parchment lined baking sheet. Press down firmly to pack the mixture into the pan. 
  3. Allow the mixture to cool until firm. Using holiday themed cookie cutters, cut into shapes by pressing the cookie cutter into the cereal mixture as far as you can, give it a slight wiggle and then remove.
  4. Decorate the Rice KrispiesⓇ festive shapes with coloured icing and holiday themed candy as desired.
