Chocolate Florentines
- Rice Krispies cereal*, butter, honey, dried fruit, nuts, and chocolate make up the key mix.
- Melt butter and honey, then cook dates for about 5 minutes to thicken.
- Mix in cherries, raisins, almonds, and cereal, then press into a 2 L (8") square pan.
- Spread melted chocolate over the top and chill to set before cutting into squares.

- 425 ml or 1 3/41 3/4 mlRice Krispies* cereal
- 50 ml or 1/4 cupbutter
- 30 ml or 2 tbspliquid honey
- 125 ml or 1/21/2 mlchopped dates
- 50 ml or 1/4 cupraisins
- 50 ml or 1/4 cupchopped glace cherries
- 15 ml or 1 tbspsliced almonds
- 125 ml or 1/2 cupsemi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
In saucepan over low heat, melt butter and honey. Add dates. Cook, stirring constantly, until thoroughly combined and thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in raisins, cherries, almonds and cereal. Press firmLy into buttered 2 L (8") square pan. In saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate. Spread over cereal mixture.
