- 50 ml or 1/41/4 ml margarine or butter
- 1 250 g pkg. (about 40) regular marshmallows**
- 2 ml or 1/21/2 ml vanilla extract (optional)
- 1.5 L or 66 L Rice Krispies* cereal
- Froot Loops* cereal
- Jam/jelly or frosting
- Decorating icing or gel
- String licorice
In large microwave safe bowl, melt margarine and marshmallows on HIGH for about 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute. Stir mixture until smooth.
Stir in vanilla. Add KELLOGG’S* RICE KRISPIES*cereal, stirring until well coated. Spread cereal mixture into a buttered 3.5 L (13 x 9") pan. Allow to cool. Cut into butterfly shapes.
Decorate butterflies with jelly, frosting, string licorice, and KELLOGG’S* FROOT LOOPS cereal.
Stove Top Method
Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Follow steps 2 and 3 above.
In large microwaveable bowl, microwave margarine at HIGH (100%) 30-60 seconds or until melted. Add marshmallows, tossing to coat. Microwave at HIGH (100%) 1 – 1 1/2 minutes or until smooth when stirred, stirring after 45 seconds. Follow steps 2 and 3 above.
